International Congress Post-study Trip!
Guess what? You know the AIESEC IC currently being held at the Palace of the Golden Horses, KL? Well, after the weeklong congress, the delegates must be tired right? So the LC (Local Committee) here at UUM decided to organize a trip for them! The destination? Pulau Langkawi! Yours truly is also going for the tour but as a volunteer photographer :)
The best thing about it is that the delegates are comprised of only students of LCP rank and above from around the globe! It will take another 107 years before the IC will be held in Malaysia since the host country is selected on a rotational basis.
The trip will be on the 1st – 3rd of September 2009 and the itinerary will be as follows:
Kuah Town
Island Hopping
Seven Wells
Wildlife Bird Park
Oriental Village
Handicraft Culture Complex
(you can try to draw and take back your own batik printing!!!)
(includes 2 nights accommodation, 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 1 dinner transportation, BBQ Dinner, Island Hopping, one way ferry ticket) O.O

AIESEC Cultural Night 09
Interns from around the world gathered at our Pusat Kegiatan Pelajar to display and enlighten us about their cultures, food, and countries. They were under two pBoX-es (Projects Based on Exchange), namely Cultural Understanding Through Exchange (CUTE) and the HIV/AIDS “Are You Positive” projects. Displays of every countries’ cultures were the main highlights. I got to visit places like Vietnam, Germany, Slovenia, Egypt, Hong Kong and the UK by just listening to the Interns. A pity the South Koreans AIESECers had left early. The much anticipated dances couldn’t be carried out due to the fasting prayers and since this was the last day the Interns were going to be in UUM, I took the liberty to snap a few photos with them :)
LLDS ’09
Local Leadership Development Seminar 2009, Titi Hayun, Yan, Kedah! I had loads of fun! I also learnt a lot thanks to the detailed presentations by the various VPs and also due to the simulation exercises. There, I learned how AIESECers drink, how they square dance, how they have fun and how they handle organizational activities. I think I should the use the word “we” instead of “they” from now on :)

AIESEC here I COME!!!
Recently got selected as the Junior Executive in the Incoming Exchange Department. Woohoo! Actually regretted joining AIESEC in my third semester. I should have joined in my first semester! *sigh* But as they say, better late than never.
Currently my responsibilities lie in facilitating incoming exchange of interns from around the globe. That means finding applicants, matching them and then realizing the match when the interns turn up for their first day of work.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Scrap that last thought! I was supposedly be able to catch up on my studies during the mid-sem break (that's why I chose not to go back) BUUUUUT the lecturers here seem to have a penchant for making an undergraduate's life miserable. Finishing the previous assignments weren't enough, so they decided to pile it on. 'Why not?' they ask. After all they don't have much to do during the holidays. *sigh*

PLUS I have to study for 5 out of 6 papers during the so-called break. (Food Science doesn't have a mid-sem paper)
Wearily yours,
Wei Lie

New Day !
And..... its an easy-going one. After almost two weeks of nonstop meetings, studying, quizzes and more meetings, finally I have ONE full day to rest T_T and I will be staying at UUM for the mid-sem break to catch up on my studies and get a few days of well deserved rest.
Also, there is the long awaited AIESEC camp aka LLDS'09 (Local Leadership Development Seminar) at D'Yan Chalet, Kedah from the 21st to the 22nd of August. It is (I hope) a welcome break from the mundane life at UUM.
FYI, I just joined AIESEC this year and was inducted into the ICX ET/DT team as a Junior Executive, so it is apparently 'compulsory' for me to attend the LLDS. IMHO, the word 'compulsory' is overtly used. It had been used so often to, as we Penangites always say, "memaksa-relakan" yourself to join a certain event.
Nevertheless, the said word did not compel me to join the event. I was promised a good time together with learning a few soft skills on the side. If so, why not?
